I highly recommend this filter to everyone who cares about their car. My car is now 19 years old with 133,890 miles on the same Engine and Transmission. I've never had any problems and my maintenance has been simple. I have always changed the filter elements myself. I wanted a by-pass filter so that I didn't need to constantly be changing the oil, and so that I would get much better protection. The Frantz Oil Cleaner/Filter was the best value, but most importantly it was the easiest to install and use. Since I have only been using it for 1 year all I can really say is that the oil appears to be much lighter in color than it was last year at this time. My first unit was an Oil Filter on my l963 Volkswagen. The older Volkswagens did not come with a spin-on oil filter; there was only a screen that really did not provide any real oil filtration. The Frantz Oil Cleaner/Filter worked well. I now have a 1999 Ford Super-Duty Pick-up Truck with a 7.3 Diesel Engine. I have a Frantz Oil Cleaner/Filter unit installed on this truck and I use a synthetic oil; Mobil Delvac. My Frantz Filter keeps my oil looking and performing like new. I have sent oil samples to Reno, Nevada for oil analysis testing and my oil is almost like "unused". The lab gave me an analysis of unused oil to compare to the one performed on the oil out of my truck. The difference was slight and amazing! Robert S.
